CHATTANOOGA (Aug. 7, 2023) – At this year’s Youth Leadership Summit held in Houston, the Project Ready students of the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga (Chattanooga, TN) won second place.

They placed second during the case competition of the Summit, which allows for students to present a solution to a problem that they see in their community. Their proposal 423 – T.K.T.T. (Think and Know the Tactics) focused on how to reduce gun violence amongst youth.

NEW YORK (August 4, 2023) -- National Urban League President and CEO Marc H. Morial today assailed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' censorship of an Advanced Placement psychology course, calling it "simple-minded pandering to bigotry and homophobia."

"Governor DeSantis is waging a campaign of hatred against marginalized people in Florida," Morial said. "His 'Don't Say Gay' crusade, like his assault on racial justice and history, is a desperate ploy to perpetuate a warped vision of the nation that mollifies his extremist supporters.
