The Affiliate Movement

The Urban League Affiliate Movement is the principal liaison between the national organization and the local communities where we have a presence. You will find Urban League affiliates in 92 markets across 36 states and the District of Columbia. Each affiliate is prominent in the social and political fabric of their communities through:
 

- The National Urban League programs and services they provide

- The local influence of their CEO, staff, and volunteers

- The Guild, Young Professionals, and community service

Each affiliate has an open-door policy, is solution-oriented, and is focused on helping our communities and clients accomplish their goals. Our work not only shapes the communities we serve, but we grow in the process, and we can't do it without you. 

 

 

 

Council of Board Chairs

The Council of Board Chairs is the value-added resource and networking organization of choice for information, training and support to affiliates and their local board members. The mission of the Council of Board Chairs is to assist individual affiliate board chairpersons in maximizing their effectiveness. Each affiliate board provides leadership and guidance to their local affiliate and strengthens the relationship of the National Urban League and the communities we serve.

The council serves as the liaison between affiliates and the National Urban League trustees, and establishes the roles and responsibilities of each affiliate, including input in the development of the policies, programs and priorities of the National Urban League.
