Ray Shackelford
Ray B. Shackelford is a native Houstonian & community leader who strives to make a difference in the lives of others. He received his B.A. in Business Administration - Finance from Morehouse College and his M.B.A. from the C.T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. Ray has been a member of the National Urban League Young Professionals (NULYP) for more than twelve years and now serves as its 10th National President. In addition to his role as a volunteer leader within NULYP locally Ray serves as the youngest member of the Houston Housing Finance Corporation (HHFC).
On the board of HHFC they focus on working with local developers to provide gap financing for quality affordable housing and projects that benefit the community and all of its stakeholders. In his professional endeavors, he has worked in education, non-profit, and the private sector. In August of 2019, he started his own consulting firm, "Ozark St" focused on Social Impact. In his consulting practice, he works with non-profits, government entities, corporate clients, and small business owners to implement strategies & create programs that drive substantive change in the community. Ray wears a lot of hats, but none is more important to him than the hat of “father.” He is the proud father of an eleven-year-old daughter, Jordan.
