Amelia Adams

Chief of Staff to Lieutenant Governor Delgado

Amelia Adams is a native New Yorker and Babson College alumna, class of 2006. She became a staple on the campus as an active member of the free press and a formidable player on northeast champions Women’s Rugby team. That active and engaging spirit led Amelia to become a community organizer for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) following graduation.

In 2013 Amelia was deputized as a director of New York Communities for Change (NYCC) where she oversaw the organizing and political departments and implemented their first staff development program.

In 2014 she went on to become a Senior Advisor and Director of Community Engagement for Melissa Mark-Viverito, New York City’s first Latina Council Speaker. Amelia also served as Political Director to Mayor Bill de Blasio’s 2017 reelection campaign.

Amelia was a founding board member of 21 in ‘21, an organization that sought to encourage women to run for elected office. The organization greatly exceeded its inaugural goal and there are now 31 women serving in the New York City Council.

In 2018, Amelia founded a consulting firm Adams Advisors building a diverse portfolio that included Bard Prison Initiative, the Partnership for New York City and Common Cause NY just to name a few. In 2022, she joined forces with Yvette Buckner and Gabriel Gallucci to create the powerhouse firm, Adams Buckner Advisors.

Amelia’s talent and dedication did not go unnoticed, and she quickly rose through the ranks of New York politics. In 2024 Amelia was appointed as Chief of Staff to Lieutenant Governor Delgado.

As chief of staff, Adams played a crucial role in shaping the Lieutenant Governor's policy agenda and ensuring that his priorities were effectively communicated and implemented. Her strategic vision and strong leadership were instrumental in the success of the Lieutenant Governor's office, earning her the respect and admiration of her colleagues.

Outside of her work in politics, Amelia is an active member of Antioch Baptist church in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. She resides in Prospect Lefferts Gardens with her rescue cats Rocket and Pilot.
