MILWAUKEE (Jan. 30, 2023)- The Molson Coors Beverage Company and the Greater Milwaukee Urban League (Milwaukee, WI) just announced a partnership that will launch a networking group for Black entrepreneurs.

The group, named the GMUL Entrepreneurship Connection, will include year-round networking opportunities for its members, as well as having access to the Black Entrepreneur Initiative platform, which contains tools and resources for entrepreneurs to grow and succeed their business.

NEW YORK and PHILADELPHIA (January 25, 2023) – National and local Urban League leaders today called on the Union League of Philadelphia to rescind the award presented yesterday to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, calling the choice to honor him an affront to Black Philadelphians that flies in the face of the organization’s own professed goal of inspiring more educated, engaged, and responsible citizens.

Partnering with the Greater Washington Urban League (Washington, D.C.), the contest honors Dr. Edwin Bancroft (E.B) Henderson, a sports historian, educator, administrator, coach, athlete, and civil rights activist known as the 'Grandfather of Black Basketball' in Washington, D.C.

NASHVILLE (Jan. 23, 2023) – The Urban League of Middle Tennessee (Nashville, TN) is celebrating 55 years of service.

On Tuesday, February 7, the Urban League will be hosting their 55th Annual Equal Opportunity Luncheon at the Music City Center.

This year’s theme is “Closing the Disparities,” which will have the Urban League focus on ways to close the inequity gap that communities of color face. This year there will be a panel discussion on how underserved communities can achieve social, economic, and civil equity.

ST. LOUIS (Jan. 23, 2023) – To honor the great Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis (St. Louis, MO) partnered with the St. Louis Area Foodbank to give out food to needy families.

President and CEO of the Urban League, Michael McMillan, said, “This, so we can live the type of dream that Dr. King would have wanted us with helping our neighbors in need.”

Over 2,000 families received eggs, canned goods, meat, dairy, toiletries, and various other items at the event.
