Lorain County Urban League Wants to Stop the Violence

ELYRIA (Dec. 5, 20230 - The Lorain County Urban League (Elyria, OH) wants to stop the violence.

Marking a significant step in the community's efforts to address and prevent violence, the Urban League will begin its violence intervention efforts this coming January.

The Urban League’s Angela Lee shared that they have recruited three violence interrupters and a social outreach worker, with plans to commence training soon and actively engage with the community at the start of the new year.

The Metropolitan Wilmington Urban League Seeks Accountability from Police

WILMINGTON (Dec. 5, 2023) - The Metropolitan Wilmington Urban League (Wilmington, DE) wants police officers to take accountability.

The Urban League is collaborating with several groups to establish a police accountability board in New Castle County. This pioneering move, sanctioned by a recent ordinance from County Council, signifies a momentous stride towards positive change and justice.

Jennifer Thompkins, the Urban League's president & CEO, expressed enthusiasm for the board's formation.

“We are absolutely thrilled about the establishment of this New Castle County police accountability board, as it marks a monumental step in the right direction,” she said.

Louisville Urban League Lauds Year’s Successes
