7 Steps Our Firm is Taking to Support the Black Lives Matter Movement
The senseless murders of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and most recently George Floyd, have been deeply and utterly disturbing. The longstanding violence against unarmed citizens of this nation has a familiar and painful stench.
Some believe conversations about race have no place in the workplace but we at Momentum Advisors and Momentum Risk Management took time to discuss these matters thoughtfully, to grieve, to pause and to reflect. As a minority-owned firm we understand that implicit bias, discrimination and racism have often been laying in plain sight at the core of our financial systems. These factors have played a key role in the creation and legacy of the wealth in this country, and our firms refuse to separate our professionalism from our humanity.

The CROWN Coalition, a national alliance founded by Dove, National Urban League, Western Center on Law & Poverty, and Color Of Change is declaring July 3, 2020 as National CROWN Day; the 1-year anniversary of the signing of The CROWN Act in California. Urban League Launch Center on Police Reform with $1M Gift
The Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio (Cincinatti, OH) will use a million dollar grant to monitor police reforms and investigate claims of police misconduct outside of Cincinnati's city limits. The money will establish the Center for Social Justice at the Urban League, with work expected to launch in mid- to late July.
The grant comes from J. Phillip and Gail Holloman, and is the largest private gift to the Urban League chapter in its 72-year history. J. Phillip Holloman is the board chair and says social justice has been lacking in and around Cincinnati, and the grant will allow police monitoring to spread outside Cincinnati.
