Urban League of Greater Madison Offers Expungement Clinic
MADISON (Oct. 23, 2023) - The Urban League of Greater Madison (Madison, WI) is hosting a free expungement clinic on Thursday, October 26th, with the support of Legal Action of Wisconsin, Foley & Lardner, and the Wisconsin Association of African American Lawyers.
Volunteer lawyers and legal professionals will be available to help community members navigate their criminal records, potentially expunging certain convictions or removing specific arrests.

The Urban League of Louisiana Takes on Digital Divide
NEW ORLEANS (Oct. 16, 2023) – The Urban League of Louisiana (New Orleans, LA) has partnered with AT&T to take on the digital divide.
They recently announced the opening of the Connected Learning Center, which will offer internet access and other educational resources for residents that are not able to connect to the internet.
The hope for these centers is for the students and their families to use the technical and educational resources that they provide. According to the Urban League, “more than 1,800 K-12 students don’t have access to the internet or computers at home to benefit from the online world, and nearly 22 million seniors nationwide lack internet connection at home – an issue known as the digital divide.”
The Urban League of Rochester ‘Gears Up!’
ROCHESTER (Oct. 16, 2023)- The Urban League of Rochester (Rochester, NY) is looking towards the future.
With their partners the Rochester City School District and New York State’s Higher Education Service Corporation, the Urban League hosted an event recently at the Field House at St. John Fisher University.
The event, a part of the Urban League’s “Gear Up!” program, hopes to encourage high school students to seek higher education.
Mississippi Urban League is Honored at Awards Show
JACKSON (Oct. 16, 2023) – The Mississippi Urban League (Jackson, MS) was recently honored with the Mississippi Business Journal’s Top Non-Profits in Mississippi.
The nominations came directly from the community, highlighting the challenging work that the Urban League does and the good it does.
The honorees were honored at a special breakfast and awards ceremony held at the Jackson Convention Center on Thursday, October 12th.
