NEW ORLEANS (Oct. 16, 2023) – The Urban League of Louisiana (New Orleans, LA) has partnered with AT&T to take on the digital divide.

They recently announced the opening of the Connected Learning Center, which will offer internet access and other educational resources for residents that are not able to connect to the internet.

The hope for these centers is for the students and their families to use the technical and educational resources that they provide. According to the Urban League, “more than 1,800 K-12 students don’t have access to the internet or computers at home to benefit from the online world, and nearly 22 million seniors nationwide lack internet connection at home – an issue known as the digital divide.”

The Urban League said AT&T will offer high speed AT&T internet, computers, and other educational resources, where participants can be mentored by other leaders in the community and AT&T employees.
