National Urban League President Marc Morial Urges Fox News to Fire Kilmead and Condemn His "Stunning Lack of Compassion and Indefensible Ignorance"

NEW YORK (September 14, 2025) — National Urban League President and CEO Marc H. Morial today called on Fox News Channel to fire Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade over his shocking remarks about murdering homeless people.
"Kilmeade's comments reveal a stunning lack of compassion and indefensible ignorance about homelessness and mental illness," Morial said. "It's doubly offensive that he would make them at a rare moment when leaders from all points on the political spectrum have urged a halt to incendiary political rhetoric."
While Fox has not seen fit to discipline Kilmeade in any way for encouraging cold-blooded extermination of vulnerable people, Morial noted, MSNBC swiftly terminated political analyst Matthew Dowd for noting that the hateful rhetoric of slaing right-wing provocateur Charlie Kirk fanned the flames of political violence.
"Fox's inaction is an endorsement not only of the substance of Kilmeade's comments, but of a double standard that glorifies the most extreme incitement to violence from the right while suppressing valid criticism from the left," Morial said. "It's not even a question of whether we want to live under that standard, but whether we can.
"The decision-makers at Fox have the opportunity to plant their flag on the right side of history. I implore them to seize it."
