Civil Rights Leaders Challenge NFL Team Owners to Prioritize Racial Diversity and Inclusion, Call for Creation of Advisory Commission to Recommend Reforms
NEW YORK (February 17, 2022) – Civil rights leaders today challenged NFL team owners to overhaul their hiring practices for head coaching and top executive positions by setting measurable goals for recruiting and hiring diverse candidates.
The leaders called for the creation of an advisory commission to make recommendations and establish guidelines.
National Urban League Partners with Federal Health Agency to Bolster Vaccine Rates in Hardest-Hit, Highest-Risk Communities

Arva Rice New Interim Chair of CCRB

NEW YORK, NY – New York City Mayor Eric Adams has named President and CEO of the New York Urban League (New York, NY) Arva Rice the interim chair of the Civilian Complaint Review Board.
The announcement came on Tuesday, February 8th. Rice will share her first remarks at the CCRB’s February Board meeting on Wednesday, February 9th. She has been involved with CCRB Board since last year.
Urban League of Greater Madison Expands Training Academies

MADISON, WI – The people of Madison will now have more opportunities for career training.
With the help of a $250,000 grant from the Ascendium Education Group, the Urban League of Greater Madison (Madison, WI) is now expanding its CDL and solar installation training programs. The grant will allow for the Urban League to train over 45 CDL drivers within the next two years. They were only able to train two to four people per year previously.
