Manager of Technical Operations for Workforce Development, PECO
Keith L. Henderson, a 39-year veteran of underground electric, gas and overhead utilities worked for PECO as a Contract Design Engineer in Philadelphia, as well as the surrounding Counties for over 22 years. As a Designer and Design Construction Consultant, Keith was the single point of contact for all new construction in Philadelphia's most challenging area, Center City Philadelphia. His most high-profile designs were the Pennsylvania Convention Center Expansion project, Ritz Carlton Condos High Rise, CIRRA Center-(AMTRAK Station) and the Washington Nationals stadium in Washington DC. Keith has worked as a contract Design Engineer for PECO's sister utilities; Baltimore Gas and Electric-(BGE), Potomac Electric Power Company-(PEPCO) in Washington, DC, and ComEd based in Chicago, Illinois.Keith was hired by PECO as a full-time employee in 2007 and was quickly promoted to the position of Aerial Lines Supervisor in the Philadelphia Region. During his 15 years as an employee of PECO, Keith has served as an underground supervisor and supervised the construction of various designs and projects from PECO's New Business and Engineering and Design groups and was a lead for the 2015 Pope visit. As Aerial Lines Supervisor, Keith and his crew built and maintained the infrastructure at Wells Fargo Center for the 2016 Democratic National Convention! Keith supervised a crew of 22 employees and was responsible for coordinating and executing field activities. He planned and assigned the appropriate resources that built and maintained PECO's infrastructure in a safe and economical manner.
In 2020 Keith was promoted to Manager of Technical Operations for PECO's Workforce Development team. In this role, Keith is responsible for developing and implementing Infrastructure Academies for Electric and Gas as well as being a resource for work ready applicants and community partners. Keith also built a team of field professionals that created the Helper Pre-Apprenticeship program. The Helper program reaches out to Community Partners and looks for candidates that may be interested in field jobs in the energy sector. The 14-week program prepares the participants to be successful Apprentices in a variety of field positions. Keith attended the American Institute of Drafting and Design, Temple University's Electrical Engineering program and obtained his certification m Diversity, Equity and Inclusion from the prestigious Cornell University in 2022.
