Angela Ohm
Vice President Appropriations, National Urban League Washington Bureau
Angela comes to the National Urban League from Capitol Hill—having served most recently with the House Appropriations Committee Democratic staff. Since 2013 she handled various accounts for the Committee, including those under the jurisdiction of the Financial Services and Transportation and Housing and Urban Development (HUD) subcommittees, mostly recently concentrating on HUD programs, including Tenant-Based Rental Assistance, the largest HUD program. Prior to that, Angela held several legal positions: she served as General Counsel for the Office of Administration in the Executive Office of the President (under President Barack Obama), General Counsel for the Senate Small Business Committee under both Senators Kerry and Landrieu, and was a career employee at the Department of Treasury at what is now called the Bureau of the Fiscal Service, handling both legal issues and congressional relations work. Before going to Treasury, she served as Legislative Director to Congressman Alan Mollohan. She has also worked in corporate law for ABF Freight System and got her professional start helping battered women as an attorney for Western Arkansas Legal Services. She has a B.A. cum laude in Political Science/Russian Studies from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville and a J.D. from New York University School of Law.
