Urban League of Springfield Honors Senior Volunteers

SPRINGFIELD (Dec. 19, 2022) - Not even bad weather can hold up a good event.

On Friday, Dec. 16th, the Urban League of Springfield (Springfield, MA) came together to honor volunteers that donated their time to help children in need.

The event took place at the Raymond A. Jordan Senior Center.

The honorees were saluted for their assistance in helping children overcome personal obstacles through the wisdom of their older years.

The Urban League’s Vice President, Andrew Cade, said of the volunteers, “They go into various schools and daycare centers throughout our city and they’re secondary children that have special needs. That’s why we’re here to celebrate, to honor them today.”

The Foster Grandparent Program is a program that the Urban League takes special pride in.
