Urban League of Philadelphia Receives $100k from Penn Community Bank

PHILADELPHIA (Sept. 11, 2023) – The Urban League of Philadelphia (Philadelphia, PA) wants to help you buy a home.

The Urban League just received a sizable $100k donation from Penn Community Bank, which will go to the Urban League’s program to help with financial literacy and first-time homebuyers.

According to the Urban League, this donation will help 35 more people buy their first home, 75 more counseling sessions intended to help those attain future home ownership, and financial literacy education for another 250 people.

The President and CEO of Penn Community Bank, Jeane M. Vidoni, said, “We’re committed to building thriving communities throughout the region through relationship-based financial services and dynamic partnerships with nonprofits like the Urban League of Philadelphia. From supporting affordable access to housing to encouraging the entrepreneurship spirit that drives economic growth, we take our responsibility to the communities we serve seriously.”

Darrin W. Anderson, president and CEO of the Urban League, said, “The programs funded by this historic donation will support that work and allow us to expand our efforts to serve even more individuals.
