ST. LOUIS (Jan. 23, 2023) – To honor the great Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis (St. Louis, MO) partnered with the St. Louis Area Foodbank to give out food to needy families.

President and CEO of the Urban League, Michael McMillan, said, “This, so we can live the type of dream that Dr. King would have wanted us with helping our neighbors in need.”

Over 2,000 families received eggs, canned goods, meat, dairy, toiletries, and various other items at the event.

Zane Porter, who was at the event, said, “It means a whole lot to me. A whole lot, because I’ve got a big family to feed, and I make sure I come down here so that I can take care of them.”

The Urban League gave out approximately $200,000 worth of food and items to those in need.
