Urban League of Louisiana Guild – Educational Symposium

On June 22, 2019, the Urban League of Louisiana (New Orleans, LA) Guild will host an Educational Symposium entitled “Bridging the Educational Gap: From Surviving to Thriving.” Panel discussions will be moderated by Anchor Gina Swanson of WDSU New-6 and consist of educators and community activist across the city and educational spectrum.

Panel topics: “Ensuring Equity in Education” and “The ABC’s and 123’s of Special Education and Discipline”

Ensuring Equity in Education: Families are now facing what seems to be a myriad of decisions as it relates to selecting a school for their child, including: understanding and keeping track of application requirements, understanding school letter grades, school vouchers, transportation, etc. During this discussion we will address the issues and develop strategies to help parents navigate through the various processes.
