TALLAHASSEE (April 24, 2023) – This past weekend, the Tallahassee Urban League (Tallahassee, FL) hosted a service fair with other community partners.
The service fair was held in the city’s south side this past Saturday, April 22nd.
The event featured neighborhood safety resources, school supplies, and health screenings.
Curtis Taylor, president of the Urban League, said, “We’re putting on this community health fair for free health screenings. Also crime prevention. We have law enforcement out here talking about ways to make your home and community safer. And then, more importantly, we’re giving back to our young people (with) our school giveaway.”
Speaking about young people, he proposed a new holiday.
“You know, we have Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. We want to make a national day where we recognize our youth where we’re encouraging them and let them know that we appreciate them and empower them and let them know that they’re our future leaders.”
