Ever wonder where that perfect glass of wine comes from – or what led that bottle of Riesling to appear on your grocery store shelf? Odds are, a local distributor is behind it.

Pinnacle Imports, with locations in St. Louis and Kansas City, is one such distributor. Founded by siblings and St. Louis natives Bill and Elizabeth Kniep, the brand has been a fixture in the city’s hospitality industry for more than 20 years, sharing its passion for wine through both education and supply to local restaurants and shops. When the May 16 tornado ravaged the city, Pinnacle decided to give back by partnering with the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis (St. Louis, MO) – an organization that has served St. Louis for 107 years.

"After the devastating spring weather in St. Louis, we considered ways to support the city's recovery efforts," the Knieps said in a statement. "From July 1 to November 30, we will be using our favorite grape as a charitable force for good. Pinnacle and our Riesling suppliers will be donating up to $24 a case for the majority of our Riesling sales to support recovery efforts."

Pinnacle is also matching most donations made by suppliers dollar-for-dollar, and area restaurants can connect with the brand for happy hour tastings, menu additions, wine dinners and more. Spots like Sasha’s on Shaw, Box Hill Grocer, Wild Olive, Peacemaker and No Ordinary Rabbit have already gotten involved.
