New Resource in Cleveland for Job Seekers

CLEVELAND, OH – Job seekers in Cleveland will now have a new resource in their job search.
The Urban League of Greater Cleveland (Cleveland, OH) has partnered with Ohio Means Jobs Cleveland-Cuyahoga County to launch Enhancing Skills for Success (ESS). This free workforce program that will help job seekers learn the soft skills that will help them get and keep jobs. Skills such as communication, time management, teamwork, and others will be taught via interactive learning modules.
The President and CEO of Urban League of Greater Cleveland Marsha Mockabee has stated that it was the pandemic that helped bring this project to fruition.
“One of the things that we saw was the opportunity to really create a presence that could be accessed by mobile phones because we know that not everybody has access to a computer, whether it be a laptop or anything like that,” said Mockabee.
Another added benefit to this program is that it will also incorporate the Urban League’s own signature training, Solid Opportunity for Advancement and Retention (SOAR).
Not only is it free for participants, but employers such as the Cleveland Clinic and Lincoln Electric have partnered with the program with opportunities that may convert into actual jobs for job seekers.
The Urban League of Greater Cleveland and Ohio Means Jobs Cleveland-Cuyahoga County are now looking for 75 adults to participate.
