National Urban League Young Professionals Join Week - February 7th-14th 

Every movement has been driven by young people and we are at an inflection point in our nation's history. We must take up the mantle of our ancestors to create an intentional space for young professionals to lead, learn and serve. The National Urban League Professionals are at the heart of the charge towards civil rights and economic justice. Founded in 1999 with several hundred members, 20 years later they've grown to more than 60 chapters and ten thousand members focused on activist advocacy and service.

NULYP Join Week is a mechanism to increase awareness and involvement in NULYP chapters by Young Professionals in their communities through a concentrated “blitz” of activity. The theme of NULYP Join Week 2021 is Called to Serve: Empowered to Lead. Our chapters have a long tradition of developing leaders for the National Urban League movement and its Affiliates, in our communities and in the business world. 

NULYP and its chapters must continue to set the bar high in spaces for young professionals and our communities as YPs seek opportunities to learn and grow as leaders. Chapters who provide this for their members are more sustainable, more impactful, have a ready pipeline of chairs and future presidents, and strong membership growth prospects. As an organization we must continue to empower our members through education and share our wealth of knowledge with the community.


Overall Goals of Join Week
● Increase membership for NULYP chapters by 20% through retention and/or recruitment.
● Increase awareness of NULYP, local chapters, and their events and activities.
● Demonstrate to Young Professionals that NULYP is THE place to go to be leaders in their community.
● Increase @NULYP and local chapter Twitter, Facebook and Instagram followers.
