NATIONAL URBAN LEAGUE MOURNS THE PASSING OF KING CENTER CHAIRMAN DEXTER SCOTT KING

NEW YORK (January 22, 2024) – National Urban League President and CEO Marc H. Morial issued the following statement in response to the death of Dexter Scott King, chairman of the King Center and the son of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Coretta Scott King:

"Dexter King devoted his life to his father's mission of justice, faith, and peace. Like his father, he was taken from us far too soon. As one of the convening organizations of the March on Washington, and a partner in the fight for civil rights, the National Urban League has long treasured its close association with the King Center, which he chaired, and the King family.  Dexter King will be remembered as a stalwart champion for racial justice who fiercely guarded his family's legacy. Our hearts are with his family and all those who grieve his loss."
