National Urban League: Mackenzie Scott Contributions to 25 Urban League Affiliates Are "A Powerful and Transformational" Gesture in Support of Racial Equality

NEW YORK (November 1, 2022) – National Urban League President and CEO Marc H. Morial today thanked philanthropist Mackenzie Scott and congratulated the 25 Urban League affiliates that received contributions totaling more than $100 million.

“On behalf of the entire Urban League network, we are honored and grateful by Ms. Scott’s extraordinary generosity and faith in our movement,” Morial said. “As the nation’s economic first responders, Urban League affiliates are the most effective and impactful engines of empowerment for eliminating racial gaps in our economic and justice systems.”

The grants will allow affiliates to expand and enhance a variety of programs and initiatives, with each organization focusing on the specific needs of the community.
