ELYRIA (Oct. 24, 2022) – The Lorain County Urban League (Elyria, OH) held its first ever Fall Family Fun Fair on Saturday, Oct. 22nd.

The fair had a bit of a twist – the Urban League featured the Matrix Mobile Health Clinic to provide free COVID-19 boosters, as well as other health screenings.

The Urban League’s Education and Youth Development Coordinator Achilles Morales said, “As it’s getting closer to wintertime and with flu season and projected COVID cases on the horizon, we wanted to partner with the state health department to offer free health screenings and boosters for the community.”

This event was a step in the nationwide All In campaign, which seeks to bring more vaccinations and vaccine awareness to minority communities.

But it wasn’t all about health – there were other fun aspects of the event such as face painting, coloring pages, oversized board games and pumpkin decorating. There was also food and beverages for all to enjoy.

According to Morales this will now be an annual event.

“It’s really all about providing health benefits to the community in a safe, effective, free way.”
