Edward Jones Announces Steps to Fight Racism

Nationwide protests in the wake of George Floyd’s killing while in police custody have sparked conversations in the wealth management industry about racial injustice, as well as public statements from companies and industry groups.

Now Edward Jones, which has more than 18,700 financial advisors, has unveiled steps to combat racism and increase opportunities for people of color.

Among them, the brokerage will invest $1 million in the National Urban League “Fights for You” campaign and conduct a “a rigorous analysis” of pay practices and make changes to ensure there is no disparity “based upon race or other characteristics, such as age, gender, sexual orientation.”
