Columbus Urban League Receives $3M from JP Morgan Chase

COLUMBUS (Feb. 6, 2023) – A new initiative coming out of the Columbus Urban League (Columbus, OH) has just received new funding.
Last Wednesday, Jan. 31st, JPMorgan Chase announced that it will be investing $3 million dollars in the Urban League’s new entrepreneurship initiative, Accelerate Her. The program looks to educate and provide support for 100 women and entrepreneurs in the Columbus area.
The initiative will also give the participants access to capital and future contracting opportunities.
In a written statement, Stephanie Hightower, president and CEO of the Urban League, said, “The Accelerate Her initiative and the multi-year, multi-million-dollar investment by our partners at JPMorgan Chase will have a rippling and residual impact on the economic empowerment of Black women and a tremendous economic impact on the community as a whole.”
In another statement, JPMorgan Chase leader in Columbus Corrine Burger said, “The expertise, perspectives and lived experiences of women of color uniquely position them to drive solutions that expand economic opportunity in their communities. We at JPMorgan Chase are thrilled to partner with the Columbus Urban League in their ongoing work to lift Black female entrepreneurs and their businesses here in Columbus.”
