The Shenango Valley Urban League (Farrell, PA) is getting help teaching digital education to the people it serves.

The organization employs people who fulfill online orders for snack boxes. It teaches them job skills. It also received a $15,000 grant from Spectrum to teach digital education to people who are defined as homeless by HUD.

The money is supporting the TECH program, which stands for teaching e-commerce and computers to the homeless.

“Through the program, we want to have them become more job ready, likely be able to get some careers around the tech fields. These skills can help them be able to get some higher paying employment, which is the goal,” said Shenango Valley Urban League President and CEO, Dr. Erin Houston.
