GRAND RAPIDS (Aug. 28, 2023) – The Urban League of West Michigan (Grand Rapids, MI) hopes to expand their youth programming with their most recent purchase.

The Urban League recently purchased a neighboring building that housed a former church back in late July. The building, formerly owned by Good Shepherd Church, sits across from the Urban League office on 735 Eastern Ave SE.

According to the President of the Urban League, Eric D. Brown, the Urban League, and Good Shepherd have been in conversations for the Urban League to purchase the building for quite some time. The Urban League plans to redevelop the building to further their youth programs.

Said Brown, “This will be a place for youth in the community to be able to gather and be a safe place for them. That’s one of our main objectives.”
