TALLAHASSEE (Nov. 28, 2022) – The Tallahassee Urban League (Tallahassee, FL) partnered with several other community partners to give out free Thanksgiving meals to those in need recently.

In partnership with Publix, Lovett Grill, and alumni from Florida A&M University, the Urban League provided over 100 boxed Thanksgiving meals to the community.

In addition to the free meals, the Urban League and their partners offered children’s games and live entertainment at the event they deemed the family dinner.

Curtis Taylor, president of the Urban League, commented that there were more similar events to come and how happy that the Urban League could step in to provide to those in need.

An attendee at the event, Lorraine Brinson, said, “They gave our turkey, they gave out stuffing, dressing. They gave out corn and things in the can. They gave out sweet potatoes in a can and the dinner was lovely.”

“There are so many people that don’t have places to go and so many people that don’t have food. I think this is a good thing for the neighborhood.”
