NATIONAL URBAN LEAGUE HONORS FORMER STAFFERS DURING ITS LEGISLATIVE POLICY CONFERENCE

WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 7, 2023) – Last night, Marc H. Morial, President and CEO of the National Urban League, honored former Urban Leaguers Donald R. Cravins, Jr., Susie Feliz and Cara Morris, at the Urban League Movement Champion Award Reception for their years of service and dedication to the National Urban League:

“Through the years, Don, Susie and Cara have all shown exemplary service and commitment to executing the mission of the National Urban League,” said Marc H. Morial.” I am pleased to honor these Urban Leaguers and am immensely proud of their career journeys. Once an Urban Leaguer, always an Urban Leaguer.”

After leaving the National Urban League, Don, Susie, and Cara transitioned to the U.S. Department of Commerce where they work in various roles within the Department. Don currently serves as the Under Secretary of Commerce for the Minority Business Development Agency, Susie Feliz currently serves as the Assistant Commerce Secretary for Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs and Cara Morris serves as the Director, Business Center Excellence and Program Support for the Minority Business Development Agency.

Their awards will be presented as part of the National Urban League's milestone 20th Anniversary Legislative Policy Conference. The Urban League Movement Champion Awards celebrate the outstanding commitment of our Urban League affiliate CEOs, staff, and auxiliary leaders who provide economic empowerment, education opportunities, and the guarantee of civil rights for the underserved in communities across the country.

The Legislative Policy Conference brings together members of Congress, elected state leaders, and community advocates from across the country. President Morial initiated the Conference in his first year as the centerpiece of an economic empowerment agenda that redefined the League’s role in shaping public policy.
