MADISON (July 24, 2023) – Thank you, Packers.

Thanks to a $250,000 donation from the Green Bay Packers Foundation, the Urban League of Greater Madison’s (Madison, WI) Black Business Hub is one step closer to fruition.

Packers Foundation board member Marcia Anderson said, “As a community-based team, the Packers know that the communities in this state a big reason we’ve been so successful.”

Urban League President and CEO Dr. Ruben Anthony said, “The Black Business Hub is going to be an economic engine, not just for South Madison, but or this region. We’ll have more economic development tools to help small business in this building than anywhere else in this state.”

The Packers donation is already adding to the sizeable amount of $25 million dollars that the Urban League has already raised for the Hub.

Anthony stressed that the Hub is being created so that Black business owners can thrive in the state.

“Here in Dane County, there are 10,000 businesses with more than one employee, and only 40 of those businesses are African American businesses.”

The Hub is scheduled to open in autumn of this year.
