Kristy Fercho

Kristy Fercho is executive vice president and head of Wells Fargo Home Lending, overseeing one of the nation’s leading combined home lenders and servicers. In her role, Fercho leads a team of more than 25,000 mortgage professionals in sales, operations, servicing, capital markets, portfolio management, and related business, risk management, and supporting functions. 

In addition to her role as head of Home Lending at Wells Fargo, Kristy is the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). She was sworn in as chairman of the MBA in October 2021, and currently serves as the first African American and the fourth woman to hold this position in the organization’s 109-year history. Her term as chairman will last through October 2022. Kristy is also a member of MBA’s Residential Board of Governors. 

She also leads the affordable housing working group for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency’s Project REACh (Roundtable for Economic Access and Change) initiative, which brings together leaders from the banking industry, national civil rights organizations, business, and technology to address barriers that prevent full, equal, and fair participation in the nation's economy. 

Kristy serves on the boards of the National Urban League, Opens Doors Foundation, and City Year. She was selected for American Banker’s 2021 “Women to Watch” list, and other industry accolades include recognition from HousingWire as a Woman of Influence in the housing industry; MReport honoring her as one of the Top Women in Housing; Diversity Journal listing her among its Women Worth Watching; and National Mortgage Professional Magazine naming her to its list of Most Powerful Women.
