Parris M. Smith
President & CEO, Lorain County Urban League
Inspired to her career out of a desire to help people in the community where she grew up, Parris M. Smith made a promise to herself that she would stay in Lorain County, Ohio, following the completion of her education in order to empower and grow the community that raised her. Parris M. Smith serves as the President and CEO of the Lorain County Urban League. Ms. Smith initially obtained a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Cleveland State University. Soon thereafter, she earned a Master of Science in psychology with a focus in public administration and social change from Walden University. Ms. Smith subsequently received a certification in advocacy from the National Urban League Congressional Advocacy Program and is a certified housing counselor by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. She has worked tirelessly for the Lorain County community at the Lorain County Urban League for the past eight years. Ms. Smith currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Mercy Health -Lorain Market and the Board of Directors for Leadership Lorain County. Ms. Smith is an innovative, energetic, and committed leader dedicated to passionately serving underrepresented populations and making a positive impact.
