Eviction Prevention in New jersey

Thanks to the Urban League of Union County, Ms. Daisy was able to avoid eviction after a very serious auto accident which left her unable to work for several months.

A hit-and-run car accident dramatically changed the life of Ms. Daisy, a single hard-working 30-year-old female professional. The accident left her in severe condition. She was rushed to the emergency room, where she was treated for multiple injuries and remained hospitalized for several weeks.

During her recovery, Ms. Daisy was unable to work, and as a result, she fell behind on her rent payments. Her financial situation became increasingly difficult, and she faced the looming risk of eviction. With her medical bills mounting and her income halted, Ms. Daisy found herself in a stressful and uncertain situation.

However, Ms. Daisy’s story took a positive turn when she connected with the Urban League of Union County. The Urban League stepped in with immediate support. They provided rental assistance funds to cover her rental arrears, allowing her to maintain stability in her home while she focused on healing.

After months of physical therapy and rest, Ms. Daisy was able to return to work and regain her financial footing. 

Ms. Daisy is now back at work, and although the memories of that tragic accident remain, she is grateful for the support she received from the Urban League.
