California has contributed a lot to Black history. Many of our acclaimed actors, actresses, and musicians got started in Hollywood. The Black Panther party actively fought for our rights out of Oakland during the Civil Rights Movement. Stars like Issa Rae and Kendrick Lamar are doing their part to push the culture forward. And today, California is home to Senator and former Presidential candidate, Kamala Harris.
But lAmerica's golden state is going through a lot of changes. The rising cost of living is driving Black residents, who are disproportionately homeless, out of state. Black people are disproportionately stopped by police, and Black students make up the lowest enrollment in the state's colleges and universities. Cast your vote your on November 3rd for the best candidate for us in California.
