PepsiCo Restaurant Accelerator Program

The PepsiCo Restaurant Accelerator Program, a five-year initiative established in 2021 to help foodservice entrepreneurs facing systemic challenges, including limited access to loans and capital, empowered businesses with the tools, expertise, and resources needed to overcome obstacles and achieve lasting success.

Our Approach

The PepsiCo Restaurant Accelerator Program offered Direct Grant Support, providing funding to 500 businesses to fuel growth, and Technical Assistance. This included expert coaching and hands-on training on various topics such as accounting systems, inventory management, operational efficiency, marketing strategies, and team development.

In the five years of the program, 13 participating Urban League affiliates served over 1,600 businesses with technical assistance (more than three times the five-year target of 500) and direct grants (500 businesses were each awarded $10,000 for operating support). Affiliates leveraged PepsiCo funding into more than $11 million in loan and equity capital and over $2.5 million in contracts.
