
Elána R. Frazier
NULYP Strategic Partnerships & Collaboration Lead
Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, Elána changed the trajectory of her event marketing and planning career in 2017 to focus on influencing state policy. Her social impact work addresses equity issues and policy fairness, including the development of policy briefs to inform legislators and influence policy decisions at the state level, convening academia, state agencies, and public health stakeholders on health policy, and improving strategies on issues related to social determinants of health across all sectors.
Elána is a graduate of the Hospitality College at Johnson & Wales University where she obtained her undergraduate degree in Sports, Entertainment & Event Management. She also holds a Master of Science degree in Project Management from Boston University and is currently a doctoral candidate at her alma mater, Johnson & Wales University.
In Urban League volunteer capacity, Lead Frazier previously served as President of the Columbia Urban League Young Professionals – first woman president and first two-term serving president, Board Member for the Columbia Urban League, mentor for the Project Ready program, and now, one of the newest members of the Urban League of Greater Atlanta. She also serves as NULYP Strategic Partnerships and Collaboration Lead. Outside of her work with the movement, Elána is an inaugural member of the Inclusion, Diversity & Equity Action Group for her alma mater as well as a Distinguished Alum, and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.
