Amelia Erwitt
Managing Director, CFE Fund
Amelia Erwitt is Managing Director of the Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund, a national non-profit organization that supports municipal efforts to help low-income families and individuals achieve long-term financial stability. Amelia provides leadership to CFE Fund staff in the development and execution of programs, technical assistance, research, policy and communications. She also manages organizational development, fundraising, administration and infrastructure. Prior to this role, she was the Associate Commissioner for Financial Empowerment at the NYC Department of Consumer Affairs Office of Financial Empowerment (OFE) where she worked closely with government agencies, communities, and the private sector to implement OFE’s critical initiatives.
Prior to her work with the CFE Fund and OFE, Amelia worked in the international development and public health fields for the United Nations, USAID, and the White House. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the George Washington University and an MPA from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University.
