Yvette Badu-Nimako
Vice President of Policy, National Urban League
Yvette Badu-Nimako is an attorney and lecturer with extensive experience working to advance civil & human rights, economic empowerment, and equity in both the public and private sectors through Legal Analysis, Policy Strategy, Oversight and Investigations, and Program Implementation. She currently serves as the Vice President of Policy at the National Urban League where she leads the policy team and provides expertise on civil rights, social justice, federal courts, and constitutional issues on behalf of the organization. She is also a Lecturer for the University of Texas System, where she teaches policymaking and analysis to undergraduate honors and graduate students.
Yvette has served as the Head of U.S. Policy at Match Group, an international tech company; as Senior Counsel on the House Committee on Oversight and Reform and Legislative Director for the late U.S. Congressman and Oversight Committee Chair Elijah E. Cummings; as a Counsel & Congressional Liaison for the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau; as an Attorney Advisor in the Obama Administration at the U.S. Department of Justice, representing the Civil Rights Division before Congress; and as Judiciary Counsel for U.S. Congressman Hakeem Jeffries.
Yvette received her undergraduate degree in Government, with an International Relations concentration, and English from Georgetown University and her law degree, with a certification in Refugee and Humanitarian Emergencies, from Georgetown University Law Center.
