African Americans are the most entrepreneurial communities. Unfortunately, our businesses are among the least capitalized and most neglected by traditional banks. Once the pandemic struck, many lacked the reserves to weather the crisis. It’s estimated that nearly half of Black-owned businesses will close permanently. The National Urban League says, “not today!” In collaboration with the Biden-Harris administration and Congress, the Urban League prioritizes resources, funding, and opportunities for minority-owned enterprises in government infrastructure investments. Members of the Black Chamber of Commerce, business leaders, and administration officials join the Urban League to offer prescriptions for helping Black-owned businesses to build back bigger – and better – than ever.
