Seville Spearman is born and raised in the city of Chicago. Her passion for equity began in high school when she interned with an advocacy organization who helped displaced families. Since then, she has been an adamant advocate for Black and Brown communities working to bring as many opportunities and resources to them as possible. Educational equity is one area she does most of her advocacy work and an area she is most passionate about, which was part of her work at the Chicago Urban League.  In her current role as Assistant Director of Partnerships at Chicago State University, the only Predominately Black Institution in the state of Illinois, she works to connect university resources to the community and bring resources and opportunities to students.  Seville graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BA in Sociology and Family Child Services and her Masters’ in Public Administration with an emphasis in Non-profit management. She serves on two boards, Pearls and Gems Elite a nonprofit for young girls and the Northern Illinois MPA Board. She was a Fellow with Stand for Children IL and received a certificate in Advocacy from the National Urban League Washington Advocacy Bureau. Seville enjoys spending time with her five children, family and friends and loves to read, workout, and cook in her free time.
