Cassandre H.B. Jennings
Cassandra H. B. Jennings is President and CEO of California’s capital city Urban League affiliate, the Greater Sacramento Urban League (GSUL). Before GSUL, she was senior advisor to former Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson where she was known for her work on key policy initiatives including the arts, homelessness, housing, and public safety. Cassandra spent six years as Assistant City Manager for the City of Sacramento and over 20 years with the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency, including six years as Deputy Executive Director. Her eminent leadership in housing, community, and economic development is recognized throughout the Sacramento Region.
In May 2020, Cassandra was selected by Fortune 100 and multi-national healthcare enterprise Centene Corporation as a member of its new national health disparities task force. She presently serves on the boards of Greater Sacramento Economic Council, Golden 1 Credit Union, Norwood Avenue and Shasta Housing Corporations, Align Capital Region, and Sacramento Steps Forward. Her advisory committees include the University of California Davis Aggie Square Innovation Committee, University of California African American Advisory Panel, and California Community Colleges Black and African American Advisory Panel. She is an active member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church and The Links, Inc.
Cassandra holds a Masters in Public Administration from the University of San Francisco and a BA in Urban Studies from the University of Maryland, College Park. She has been married 42 years to husband Rick and enjoys spending time with their adult children, their spouses, and beautiful grandchildren.
