Urban League of Greater Hartford Get Community Moving
HARTFORD – The Urban League of Greater Hartford (Hartford, CT) is trying to get their community to MOVE!
MOVE! Is an event that the Urban League will be hosting in partnership with the Hartford Marathon Foundation on Saturday, July 30th at Keney Park. The event will include a 5K run and walk, free kids races, and a fitness festival for all ages. There will also Zumba classes, Double Dutch, and live entertainment.
The Urban League hopes that this event will encourage participants to get out and get active. It will also include a festival along with the 5K, which will take place in the park. Kids twelve and under will get free entry to the 5K, or the various other races of a shorter distance.
Proceeds of the event will go towards to the Urban League and their mission of trying to improve racial equity and economic empowerment.
For David Hopkins, President and CEO and of the Urban League, this event comes at a great time.
“This event brings HMF, corporate partners like Pratt & Whitney, and Greater Hartford together to show how important physical activity is to a healthy, empowered and economically mobile community.”
