New York (March 6, 2023) – In an event that included some of the fragrance industry’s heavyweights, the New York Urban League (New York, NY) honored the President of The Fragrance Foundation (TFF) with its first ever Catalyst Award.

Linda G. Levy received the award at the Urban League’s 2023 Champions of Diversity Symposium and Awards event, held this year on Wednesday, Feb. 15th.

The Urban League awarded Levy due to her leadership in forwarding diversity initiatives in the fragrance industry. She is the figure behind the hashtag, #FragranceForwardTFF, a move to provide opportunities for people of all backgrounds into the industry, reflecting the diverse population of the country.

The event was also the launch of the new partnership between the Urban League and The Fragrance Foundation. The Fragrance Foundation Catalyst Initiative seeks to help the Urban League’s Diversity Lab, and would provide workforce development training for people of color that seek to join the fragrance industry. All 200 TFF member companies have supported this effort.

Said Levy, “I am honored to receive the inaugural Catalyst Award from the New York Urban League on behalf of The Fragrance Foundation and community. It is not only about the Award itself, but what is symbolizes: our long-term commitment to ensuring that the entire industry reflects all people. We are 100% committed to providing opportunities and building a sustainable platform to meet the interests of those served by the New York Urban League, its innovative Diversity Lab and the lasting impact our combined efforts are designed to have.”

Dr. Arva R. Rice, President and CEO of the Urban League, said, “New York Urban League is proud to present our 2023 Champions of Diversity with Linda Levy as our very first Catalyst Award winner. Linda and The Fragrance Foundation are at the forefront of taking the action and steps to diversify the industry in a bold new way.”
