KNOXVILLE – Local entrepreneurs in the Knoxville area got some cash for their business ideas.

On Tuesday, June 7th, the Knoxville Area Urban League (Knoxville, TN) gave out a total of sixteen thousand dollars to entrepreneurs as part of their entrepreneurship program, CO.STARTERS. The program is a ten-week program that gives entrepreneurs the chance to build upon their business plans and test their ideas, with instructors, peers and local business owners giving feedback. At programs’ end, program participants showcase their ideas to a judges panel, who then pick out three winners.

The first-place winner was a digital content production company named Goodi Digital, which would create digital content for small business. They received a check for $5,000.

Second-place was given to an entrepreneur by the name of Aly Taylor, who runs Another Chance Realty. Ms. Taylor runs a community housing nonprofit, and she received $3,000 from the program.

Third place was giving to Lalina Thompson, who is the founder of 3 Little Curls. She was given a check for $2,000 to assist in her dream of creating all-natural hair care products for those with curly and coiled hair.
