Baltimore Urban League Offers Pop Up Shop to Young Entrepreneurs

BALTIMORE, MD – The Greater Baltimore Urban League (Baltimore, MD) will give young entrepreneurs an opportunity to help promote their small business
This coming Saturday, February 19th, the Greater Baltimore Urban League (GBUL) will give entrepreneurs under the age of 25 a chance to show their wares and promote their services at a one-of-a-kind pop-up shop.
“This pop-up provides an opportunity for our young and thriving entrepreneurs of the Gen Z era,” said Tiffany Majors, President and CEO of the GBUL. “We have identified in our current services and support to the Gen Z era that they are venturing the area of entrepreneurship more than ever,” Majors remarked. “There is a higher percentage of Gen Z’ers that are interested in entrepreneurship than college.”
The pop-up shop will begin at 10 AM at 4328 Erdman Avenue in Baltimore. There will be 20 free tables for entrepreneurs, one business per table. There will also be a coaching session after the event that participants are required to attend.
It is the opportunity for networking and peer mentorship that makes this pop-up shop so important. “It is imperative,” Majors said. “Many entrepreneurs do not survive or thrive. Having experienced coaches to get through the rough patches, truly understand their product, their brand, the desires of their consumers, and the funding opportunities available can make or break small businesses.”
One of the major goals of the pop-up shop is for participants to not only sell their products, but also network and collaborate with their peers.
Coaches will also be available to support entrepreneurs’ success in growing their minority small business.
The pop-up shop also provides a chance for the entrepreneurs to win a $1000 grant to further their business, as well as getting registered with the state.
