About the Franchise Inclusion Initiative
The buying power of African American and Latino consumers tops $1 trillion annually, and research indicates that these groups are also the fastest growing number of new small business owners.
Business startups are key to job and wealth creation, and for many, franchising is a popular option because it allows one to go into business for themselves but not by themselves. However, industry-wide reports show that minority franchise owners are underrepresented when compared to white owners. Black and Asian owners comprise only 6% of the market, respectively, while Latino ownership stands at only 14% of the market.
To help combat the disparities in minority franchise ownership, the National Urban League is launching its Franchise Inclusion Initiative. The initiative will both elevate underrepresented individuals in pursuing a path toward business ownership and generational wealth building, while assisting brands with their goals of more effectively representing the communities they serve.
The National Urban League is pleased to team with Popeyes for the launch of this initiative.
As one of the fastest growing quick service restaurants, Popeyes continues to expand its footprint and greet more guests with its delicious southern offerings that offer the taste you would expect when walking into an authentic kitchen in Louisiana. While Popeyes has a long waiting list of potential franchisees, the brand is looking to recruit best-in-class, diverse operators to join the family and help take the brand to the next level as it continues to develop and grow nationwide.
If you are interested in joining the network of more than 2,700 restaurants in North America, please complete this initial questionnaire, which will be reviewed by both the National Urban League and Popeyes to assess your readiness to continue with the application process. You will be contacted within six weeks of submission of this form.
