The Harder House Gives People a Second Chance in Seattle

21 year-old Erick M. was living in a shelter when he came to the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle looking to turn his life around.

The affiliate gave him housing in their Harder House, an independent transitional home that house seven men between 18-24 for up to 24 months. The home provides trainings and wrap around support services to help young men transition from the foster system, and homelessness, to self-sufficient adults.

After moving in October 2018, Erick enrolled in a four-week career training program that landed him a job at Domino’s Pizza. He is currently saving and on track to move into his own apartment in November of this year.
