Kimberly A. Irvin-Lee
Kimberly A. Irvin-Lee provides direct guidance for initiatives in the Urban League of Greater Atlanta’s Entrepreneurship Center to support the ongoing growth of small businesses in Greater Atlanta. She is actively engaged in community collaboration, business programming, and program creation and implementation.
Kimberly was previously the Sr. Director of the Entrepreneurship Empowerment Center and the Regional Director of the Minority Business Assistance Center (MBAC) located at the Akron Urban League in Akron, Ohio. In her role, she has assisted, and counseled Ohio based small, minority-owned, socially and economically disadvantaged businesses. Assistance included support with securing state certifications, government contract opportunities, and orchestration of necessary relationships that encouraged business growth and development. Additionally, Kimberly managed the team of compliance officers that provided oversite to minority participation on the City of Akron Waterways Renewed! Projects.
While working at the Akron Urban League Kimberly has organized and implement various initiatives such as the Connect Your Community computer training program, which served more than 3,500 individuals on computer usage and how to obtain an internet service provider; she has also implemented and facilitated a Construction Apprenticeship Program and the Construction Training Program so that blacks could participate on projects when the new Akron Public Schools were being constructed.
Irvin-Lee has been an active member in the Akron community supporting the United Way Leadership Giving Campaign and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) through cultural and civic engagement. She has participated on several committees within the Akron Urban League along with local partner organizations such as the Greater Akron Chamber of Commerce, she Co-Chaired the Greater Akron Supplier Diversity Conference, was Treasurer on the Board of Directors for Info Line Akron and served as a board member for Habitat for Humanity of Summit County and Women’s Network Leadership Institute.
Irvin-Lee received a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management and Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Malone University. She also has 14 years’ experience in accounting, with an Associate’s degree in Accounting Technology from Southern Ohio College, NE.
An Akron native who is new to the Atlanta area, Kimberly has owned two small businesses in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and enjoys traveling, working with youth and spending time with her husband, Rex, 6 children, 15 grandchildren & family and friends.
