| O. Jamecca Marshall is the Director of Programs for the Los Angeles Urban League, where she is responsible for all its program development, administration, implementation, and evaluation, in addition to strategy and organizational development efforts for the League. A native of Los Angeles, Jamecca has worked her entire career toward supporting socially just and equitable solutions for the Black and Brown communities across America. Her unique expertise centers around authentic, indigenous leadership development, community-led and multi-sector partnerships, network capacity development, and social campaigns. Previously, Jamecca led Advancement Project CA as Manager of its Urban Peace Institute. Her work encompasses strategic policy, advocacy, non-profit program development, research, strategic planning, consultation, organizational management, and organizational development. While Ms. Marshall honed much of her practical expertise in South Los Angeles and Watts (where her heart is always), she has led technical assistance efforts for state-wide and national initiatives. Ms. Marshall has trained practitioners, advocates, and activists nationally, including sites in Washington, DC; Baltimore, MD; Chicago, IL; Jackson, Mississippi; Minneapolis, MN; Kansas City, MO; and New Orleans, LA. Ms. Marshall received her BA from Stanford University in American Studies with an honors specialization in Race and Ethnicity. She received a Masters of Public Policy and a Masters of History from The George Washington University. She loves spending time with her son and enjoys writing and illustrating. |
